Within Beauty

For this week’s blog post, I am going to talk about the beauty within.

Literally.

What we put in our bodies really matters. Food matters. This post isn’t going to be one of those “all food but leafy greens and smoothies are bad” or “you have to work out all day everyday” food and lifestyle posts. This is about awareness for what you put in your body and how you can take better care of yourself to make yourself become the best version.

A couple years ago my family went full blown vegan. Yes, the big v, vegan. For the first couple of months, our skin dramatically improved. My sister and I had less acne problems and my dad was literally glowing. His skin looked flawless. Slowly over the years, we have integrated more meats and dairies back into our diets and our skin has maintained the same glow.

I am not encouraging the full out vegan diet but less red meats and dairy was really beneficial for our family and if you are willing to try this I bet it will be the same for you and yours!

With this new found eating routine my family also began to exercise together more frequently. One of our favorite things to do is go on hikes such as Cold Springs Trail and Hot Springs Trail in Santa Barbara. On these such hikes, you can build up quite a sweat which in turn opens up your pores and rids them of toxins and dirt that can clog them. Additionally, you can get a good source of vitamin d hiking, running, walking or doing other activities outside. Vitamin d is very important for healthy and strong bone growth and other bodily functions.

External beauty can be highlighted by innumerable makeup products as I’ve mentioned in past blogs. Countless occasions call for differing looks, styles, and products. But at the end of the day, it all comes down to how your body is maintained ¬†internally. Health is the most important aspect of life. If your healthy and active many things will improve greatly like your skin, strength and all around happiness. You all should try, even if it’s just a little, to make improvements on food, activity and all around health because it will benefit you now and in the future greatly.
